Biography
Dr. Fisher received his medical degree from the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, completed his internships and residencies in general surgery at George Washington University Medical Center and his plastic surgery residency at Emory University Affiliated Hospital. Following his residency, he was on staff at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, from 1981 to 1986 as attending plastic surgeon. A fellow in the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Fisher is active in numerous medical societies including the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Fisher has been doing hair transplantation for over 15 years and was originally trained by renowned Dr. Carlos Ubel in Brazil, one of the “Fathers” of the small graft megasession. Dr. Fisher is a board certified plastic surgeon with extensive cosmetic surgical experience. This experience enables him to minimize any potential scarring or stretching in the donor area by double closing all his incisions. He also creates his own custom made instruments in order to create very tiny incisions for the grafts. Dr. Fisher personally creates the incisions and places the grafts himself.
Dr. Fisher is known for his expert repair work on correcting unsuccessful hair transplants. Dr. Fisher is involved in developing educational materials for physicians learning hair transplantation and corrective transplantation techniques, including workshops and published works.
Dr. Fisher was chosen in September 1998 by American’s Health Network to perform the world’s first hair transplant broadcast live over the Internet. He also has been included in Woodward/White’s Best Doctors in America since 1997.
