Biography

Dr. Marissa Tenenbaum is a board-certified plastic surgeon at West County Plastic Surgeons of Washington University in St. Louis. She is an Associate Professor of Surgery and the Director of Aesthetic Surgery at Washington University. She has been voted among the “Best Plastic Surgeons” and “Best Doctors in America” by St. Louis Magazine and as a “Top Doctor” by Castle Connolly Limited. She has also been recognized as a RealSelf Top Doctor.

Dr. Tenenbaum received a Bachelor of Science in Natural Science – Nutritional Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1998 and a Doctor of Medicine from Washington University in St. Louis in 2002.

After completing her general surgery and plastic surgery training at Washington University in St. Louis, she completed a fellowship in Aesthetic Surgery with W. Grant Steven, MD at the University of Southern California School of Medicine in Maria del Rey, California in 2008.

She served as the Program Director of the Integrated Plastic Surgery Residency Program at Washington University from 2014 through June 2021. Dr. Tenenbaum continues to be involved with education of the next generation of plastic surgeons.

Dr. Tenenbaum is an active member of American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Council of Academic Plastic Surgeons, American Association of Academic Plastic Surgeons and the American Medical Association.

She serves as a Member at Large on the Board of Directors for the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Society as well as many committees for both American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Society and the American Society of Plastic Surgery.

She has been named a lecturer and visiting professor at a multitude of prestigious medical institutions and sits on the editorial board of Aesthetic Surgery Journal.
